About Julie

Hi, I’m Julie!

I am a student intern from Walden University, and I joined Cherokee Rose Counseling because of my passion for supporting women through life’s transitions and challenges.

Before pursuing counseling, I was an educator for over 25 years. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Georgia and a Master’s in Education from the University of North Georgia. My extensive background in human development has equipped me to assist women with parenting support, empty-nesting adjustments, career and relationship dilemmas, and other natural—but often stressful—life transitions.

At Cherokee Rose, I bring expertise in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), a proven approach to managing many of the mental health challenges we face today. This strategy has been transformative in my own life and my family’s mental health journey, inspiring me to become a counselor to help others experience similar growth and healing.

When I’m not counseling (or studying counseling!), I’m a proud single mom of two grown sons and the owner of two loving Labrador retrievers, Charlie and Jenny. I enjoy a variety of hobbies, especially those that let me connect with nature, like kayaking, camping, hiking, and gardening. On quieter days, you’ll find me reading, creating art, experimenting with sourdough, or playing cards.

I look forward to supporting you on your journey to growth and healing!
