Support Through Perimenopause and Menopause

You’re Not Crazy. You’re Changing.

This phase of life doesn’t have to be marked by suffering in silence. You deserve care that takes your whole self into account—your biology, your story, your environment, and your dreams for what comes next.

If you're in the midst of perimenopause or menopause and feeling lost, unseen, or overwhelmed, you’re not alone. Therapy offers a space to be heard, held, and supported as you move through this transition with greater clarity and strength.

Abstract Woman in Field

What Are Perimenopause and Menopause?

Perimenopause is the transition phase leading up to menopause, often beginning in a woman’s 30s or 40s, but sometimes earlier. Hormone levels—especially estrogen and progesterone—begin to fluctuate, which can lead to irregular periods, mood swings, sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression, brain fog, and more.

Menopause is defined as the point when you’ve gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period. While this “end” of menstruation is often the milestone marker, the physical and emotional shifts that accompany it can begin years before—and linger after.

Common symptoms include:

  • Mood swings or irritability

  • Anxiety or depression

  • Sleep issues and night sweats

  • Memory or concentration difficulties (“brain fog”)

  • Loss of libido or physical changes

  • Grief, identity shifts, or relationship strain

Despite the impact of these changes, there remains very little research, understanding, or structured support for women navigating this phase of life. Too often, women are left to piece it together themselves.

What Therapy Looks Like During this Time

Therapy can be talk-based, trauma-informed, or integrative, depending on your needs. Some sessions might focus on stress reduction and mindfulness, while others may explore deeper emotional patterns, identity shifts, or grief around aging and change. You set the pace. You define what thriving looks like.

We may integrate:

  • Cognitive-behavioral strategies for mood and anxiety

  • Psychoeducation about hormonal changes

  • Narrative and identity work

  • Mindfulness and grounding tools

  • Gentle exploration of past experiences that may resurface

How Therapy Can Help

Therapy during perimenopause and menopause offers a safe and validating space to explore the emotional, mental, and relational impacts of hormonal shifts and aging. It’s not “just hormones”—it’s your identity, your energy, your relationships, your history, and your hopes for the future all rising to the surface at once.

We can work together to:

  • Understand and normalize what you're experiencing

  • Develop coping strategies for mood changes, anxiety, and sleep issues

  • Process grief, loss, or identity shifts

  • Navigate relationship changes and communication challenges

  • Reconnect with your body and sense of self

  • Address past trauma or unresolved emotional patterns that resurface during this stage

Therapy Session

You don’t have to go it alone.

The physical, emotional, and mental shifts that come with perimenopause and menopause can feel overwhelming, isolating, and even invisible. Many women are left wondering, “Why didn’t anyone tell me it would be like this?” The truth is, we’re only just beginning to have real conversations—and research—about what women need during this transformative stage of life.

Let’s work together to make this a chapter of reconnection, not just survival.
